Zion National Park Mountains, Utah
These promontories formed the colorful scene visible from the back porch of our hotel room just outside Zion National Park. This little study is an en plein air rendition, a sketch really, of the way the light played on the rocks just before sunset. In fact, the colors shifted drastically every few minutes, and it was hard deciding what colors to keep and which ones might be altered to match what the light was doing from second to second.
