Golden Hawk and Moon
Golden hawks perch in our trees in Potomac, Maryland, and hunt squirrels and chipmunks in our backyard. They can be seen circling above our neighborhood at all times of the year. The one that perched on our birdfeeder was gorgeous. This painting is partly based on a photograph that I took of that bird. However, I converted the feeder into a pine branch and turned day into night, just because I could.
