Fauve Peaks
How fauve could I get? This fauve! It is not my usual approach or style to be so stark and exaggerated, but I do like the brutal bluntness of these mountain forms. It may be that this landscape evokes the way one might feel after spending too much time hiking over steep and rocky paths through hellish heat and demonic gnats. Or it could be a visual trope for some emotional landscape one feels trapped in. In any case, this is one of my Gaea Series paintings from 1995. I won’t get more personal than that in this space.
