Custom Painted Piano
This is an example of painted furniture. For a long time, I contemplated painting my own piano because it was old and brown and soaked up light in the family room. The piano produced excellent sound though, so there never was any question of replacing it. After visiting Scotland, I decided to decorate its top panel with a stylish row of Scottish kings, basing the design on a mural on display in a museum in Glasgow. The bottom panel then looked a little sad, so I designed a row of revolutionary figures from British and American history for it. Unfortunately, I do not have a good photograph of the finished piano. And now it belongs in the collection of a church in suburban Virginia!
