Black River Boats, Jamaica
When I visited a friend in Jamaica, we took a boat ride up the Black River. A sudden heavy rain descended on us and drenched us as we motored up river. Then the sun came out. On the way back, we saw alligators sunning themselves on the banks, all sorts of mango trees, riverside villages and eateries, and stretches of rural landscape. This painting depicts a cove where several small fishing boats were beached and where we stopped for lunch. The reflections in the water captured my attention.
